Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between Engineered and Solid Wood Flooring?
An engineered wood floor is constructed of layers of both hardwood and plywood, where solid hardwood is a solid piece of wood with no layers.
Which is better? Engineered or Solid Wood Flooring?
Engineered hardwood is often (but not always) more stable. Because of its layers, it's often stronger than solid hardwood. And, because the layers are perpendicular to each other, there is usually less expansion and contraction, so it allows for a tighter fit, especially during the winter when it's more dry.
Why should wood flooring acclimate?
The goal is to acclimate the wood to whatever the normal living conditions are and ensure the wood flooring moisture content is within 2% of the subfloor moisture content. Usually takes 3-5 days
What is the difference between Hardwood and Laminate Flooring?
Hardwood flooring is made of 100% wood, whereas laminate is made of fiberboard with a photographic pattern placed on top.
How do i clean my Hardwood Floor?
Make sure you use a Hardwood Cleaner. Anything else could compromise the integrity and durability of the finish.
How do i prep for my new floor installation.
Make sure the area being worked in is clear of of the old flooring, furniture, appliances and baseboards.
